A candle’s light through the murk—

A candle’s light through the murk—
the value of a doctor’s work—
an outside gaze only sees the deed

A flame feeding on wax—
the doctor consuming facts—
an inward gaze’s only heed

A wisp from a fire burned out—
the doctor driving home with doubt—
a Godly gaze does not snuff out
nor break the bruised reed
