A heavy stone I cannot eat\u2014 that is how I miss you\r\n\r\nI drive by the farmer\u2019s market in the spring\r\n               morning after a long call in the hospital\r\n\r\nDo I dare park and take a walk\u2014 eat a peach\u2014 \r\n               and feel grass stiff and bright beneath me?\r\n\r\nKale and collards\u2014 puffs and pies are\r\n               words that seduce and sweeten from afar\r\n\r\nEven al pastor and sausage meats\u2014 the still-hot\r\n               breads and goat cheese\u2014 bite the poetic eye\r\n\r\nIf I stroll between the stands\u2014 drift\r\n               between the chatter\u2014 glow in glory\r\n\r\nin the sun\u2014 and consume today in every sense\r\n     I think a pit\u2014 dark and hard\u2014 would still remain\r\n\r\nMy days become drupes with thoughts of\r\n               missing you\u2014 If a bite of flesh will disappoint\r\n\r\nI\u2019d rather drive home to slumber\u2014 for a day\r\n               enjoyed is not a day enjoyed without you\r\n<\/pre>\n
