Why, when words-- thought divine imbued-- project\r\nfrom lips intent to turn a sinner's heart,\r\nmirrored shards straight fly to shine and reflect\r\nnot you, but me-- blemish the work you start?(1)<\/sup>\r\n\r\nSo easily disfigured in the head\r\nand quickly perverted become your plans--\r\nA force to cut and burn, divorce and wed--(2)<\/sup>\r\nan edge of knife you leave to child's hands,\r\n\r\nyet still this daggered gift you give to all.(3)<\/sup>\r\nWill mercy let my words be short and few,\r\nor cut(4)<\/sup> the mouth to save a brother's fall?(5)<\/sup>\r\nElse, I turn my heart to beast before you(6)<\/sup>--\r\n\r\ntongued; wherefore if my heart condemns me thus,(7)<\/sup>\r\nthere dwells a greater word with sharper thrust.(8)<\/sup>\r\n<\/pre>\n
