It eats the curb\nwith drunken pecks\u2014\n\nhe nips and bobs;\ndances unmeasured; his chorus of grey\nfeathers sing of spring\n\nunsobered. \nSuddenly, a siren shoots across the street\nwith a stinging shriek.\n\nAt the periphery\nof the senses, between the stars of\nindustry and power\n\nbefore it rises fades\naway forever, I caught a glimpse:\na flash of feathers\n\nbehind the grey\nthat coats all things\u2014 vital sign of life\u2014\nhis iridescent fringe.\n<\/pre>\n<ol style=\"font-size: x-small;\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Greystone_(architecture)\">The Chicago greystone <\/a> \u2014 began appearing in neighborhoods like North Lawndale, Woodlawn, and Lakeview in the 1890s.
